Marina Reveals She Caught Coronavirus Despite Being Fully Vaccinated
Welsh singer Marina has posted some helpful information and an update on her health after contracting coronavirus.
Reports of the rise of the delta variant of coronavirus worldwide is leading to increased hospitalisations and more deaths.
In an Instagram story, Marina has revealed that she contracted coronavirus despite having received both vaccines.
“Hey everyone. I got Covid last week, as did 5 of my friends. We were all double vaccinated,” she writes.
“Just want to say be careful out there. Breakthrough cases are more common than are being reported.”
The singer ended the post urging fans to get the vaccine when offered it. “PS get vaxxed as soon as you’re offered it. I would not want to go through an even worse of version of the last week!”

In a following tweet, she shares some further information:
“PS – symptoms started with sneezing and sore throat for a lot of people. Don’t assume it’s a cold because you’re vaccinated.”
“don’t bother with rapid/lateral flow tests if it’s in the first 5 days after exposure. You’ll likely be undetectable + test negative.”
