MGM Secures Jason Momoa And Dave Bautista’s New Buddy Cop Film

MGM is in final talks to secure the rights to Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista’s upcoming buddy cop film.
The new project has been long in the works between the two stars and had generated a lot of interest from major studios. Jonathan Tropper penned the script for the as-yet-untitled film, with Jeff Fierson producing.
Deadline reports that the new picture takes inspiration from Lethal Weapon and hopes to begin production in Hawaii in 2023. No director has yet been chosen for the project.
Momoa is best known for featuring as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones. He is currently working on the DC sequel, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
Bautista, who plays Drax the Destroyer in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, has enjoyed a number of significant appearances in titles such as Spectre, Blade Runner 2049 and Army of the Dead.
Both actors recently appeared in Denis Villeneuve‘s Dune.
