‘Morbius’ Director Daniel Espinosa Responds To Negative Reviews

Morbius director Daniel Espinosa has responded to negative reviews of the latest Marvel film.
Since its April 1 release, Morbius has accumulated a host of negative criticism.
The film has received a Rotten Tomatoes score of 16 per cent, making it one of the lowest-rated Marvel films to date.
In a recent interview with Insider, Espinosa was asked whether or not he paid attention to the negative feedback the film had received from critics.
“Look, I have a lot of self-hatred so I have a lot of criticism of my own work,” he said. “I’m always trying to focus on being better. But I am also proud of what I do. There are parts in all of my movies that I’m really proud of.”
In addition to its low ratings, Morbius’ box office debut earned just $39.1 million during its opening US weekend and $84 million globally, which is far below what is expected of a typical Sony–Marvel film.
