Naomi Osaka Set For Tennis Return In August Competition

Organisers for the National Bank Open event in Montreal confirmed the return of the four-time grand slam champion.

This will be the first time since Naomi Osaka has appeared in a competition since her first round win in the French Open. Following her win Osaka withdrew on mental health grounds.

The announcement came as the tournament director revealed a few names of those set to compete. “We are delighted to welcome the likes of Ashleigh Barty, Naomi Osaka and Aryna Sabalenka,” said Eugene Lapierre.

Naomi also won two ESPY awards for Best Athlete, Women’s Sport and Best Athlete, Women’s Tennis on the weekend.
