Netflix Employees File Charge Following Dave Chappelle Controversy

Two trans Netflix employees have filed labour charges against the company, after they were fired for speaking out against Dave Chappelle.
Netflix employees B. Pagels-Minor and Terra Field have filed a charge against the streaming giant, after one of them was fired and the other suspended for speaking out against Dave Chappelle’s comedy special, The Closer, last month.
According the IndieWire, the filing has accused Netflix of firing employees “to prevent [them] from speaking up about working conditions including, but not limited to, seeking to create a safe and affirming work environment for Netflix employees and speaking up about Netflix’s products and the impact of its product choices on the LGBTQ+ community”.
Netflix have previously denied firing Minor and suspending Field, over their comments made about Dave Chappelle’s special.
According to the streaming giant, Minor was fired for an unrelated reason, while Field was suspended for entering an executive meeting which she wasn’t suppose to.
