New York Mets Jacob DeGrom Continues His Historic Start To Season

Since returning from injury, New York Mets pitcher Jacob deGrom continues to make history with his ERA.
deGrom’s ERA (earned run average) has lowered to 0.71 following the pitcher tossing six scoreless innings.
This is “the lowest for a qualified starter through May”.
It was in 1964 when Philadelphia Phillies Chris Short recorded a ERA 0.64. ESPN report.
deGrom also recorded, “27 pitches of 100-plus mph” which is “the third most in a single game since 2008.”
Commenting on his performance, the pitcher said “I think if I would have a perfect game or no-hitter still going, I would have wanted to stay out there.”
The Mets went on to win 6-2 against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
