Nicholas Hoult To Star In Universal’s ‘Renfield’

Nicholas Hoult will star in Universal’s new film ‘Renfield‘, which focuses on the titular henchman of Dracula.

Deadline reports that Universal will take a modern-day approach to the character and stray away from the more historical archetype of Dracula stories.

Universal has been working to expand its ‘monster universe’ with re-imagined Wolfman and Van Helsing films already in the works.

Chris McKay will direct the new film, replacing Dexter Fletcher who was formerly attached to the project. McKay is currently enjoying the success of his latest film The Tomorrow War, which became available on Amazon in July.

Nicholas Hoult was recently confirmed to star in The Menu alongside Ralph Fiennes and Anya Taylor-Joy. Hoult also appeared on screen earlier this year in Those Who Wish Me Dead – a thriller starring Angelina Jolie.
