Nicola Coughlan Reveals A Different Ending Was Planned For ‘Bridgerton’

Nicola Coughlan has revealed that the first season of hit Netflix series Bridgerton was supposed to have a different ending.
Coughlan, who plays Penelope Featherington, in the drama has revealed at Netflix’s TUDUM fan event that the series almost had a very different ending.
“It was a reshoot in July, so they had filmed a different ending. They were going to make it seem like it was Cressida Cowper,” Coughlan said.
The actress explained that one of the main reasons the ending was changed was to tailor it more towards her characters storyline in the series’ upcoming second season.
“How do I say this without being a spoiler? It’s very satisfying, what happens with Penelope, in season two,” she said.
Netflix also recently announced at the Code Conference event, that Bridgerton season 1 is the most watched series on their platform with over 81 million individual accounts tuning in to watch it.
