Nicole Kidman has learned that her Australian home is under threat by the wildfires.
According to Page Six, the 52-year-old actresses Sydney home is on fire — and she found out after arriving for a pre-Golden Globes party.
Kidman was allegedly in tears as she arrived at the Gold Meets Golden event at Virginia Robinson Gardens in Beverly Hills. As she went into the party, she told press, “I’m distracted right now with everything happening in Australia,”
Celebrities and the likes of are pledging money to support the fight against the fires, with pop star Pink donating $500,000. She wrote on social media, “I am totally devastated watching what is happening in Australia right now … My heart goes out to our friends and family in Oz.”
The prime minister of Australia has sent 3,000 military reservists to help communities affected by the fires, which has taken the lives of 23 people since the fire season began in September, 2019 — 12 lives were lost in the last week.
A state of emergency has been declared in New South Wales, Australia; once the fires are extinguished, the entire state will need restoring.
