Pilou Asbæk Joins Latest Stephen King Adaptation ‘Salem’s Lot’

Game of Thrones actor Pilou Asbæk has secured a starring role in the film adaptation of Stephen King’s Salem’s Lot.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, filming for the new project is currently underway in Boston. The feature, written and directed by Gary Dauberman, follows a man who returns to his childhood home to write his next book. Once there, he discovers his hometown is being preyed upon by a vampire, whom he must fight with the help of some rag-tag associates.
Asbæk is the latest star cast in the project, joining the likes of Lewis Pullman, Alfre Woodard, Mackenzie Leigh, Bill Camp, and Spencer Treat Clark. He will reportedly play the vampire’s familiar, Richard Straker, while Pullman claims the starring role as author, Ben Mears.
Pilou Asbæk is best known for his role as Euron Greyjoy in HBO’s Game of Thrones. His other notable appearances are in films such as Overlord and Woodshock. Most recently, he joined the cast of DC’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and will also feature in the dark superhero film, Samaritan.
The new horror-thriller hopes to premiere on September 2, 2022.
