Ricky Gervais is heading to the Walk of Fame in Hollywood for his contributions to the entertainment industry over the last 20 years.
The 60-year-old After Life star is set to receive the honour, representing his tremendous and ongoing commitment to provide entertainment to millions around the world.
In recent years, Gervais has focussed on creating After Life which is a Netflix original series that follows the life of a man that lost his wife to terminal illness and his attempts at taking his life.
The show is the most watched British sitcom on the streaming platform and for other films and TV shows he has won 25 Emmy Awards, 11 Baftas and nine Golden Globes.
Ricky recently announced that series 3 of After Life would be the last, saying during a 1&A event at the Picturehouse Central cinema in London, “I love this more than anything I have ever done, but I am getting older and I am menopausal. People do a terrible film because of their grandson — I am at that level now. I could do a fourth — it would not run out of ideas because it is about so much stuff. But I said I won’t, so I won’t. I think this is the best series. It gets better and better, as it should.”
Congratulations to Ricky, and others that are also set to receive a Walk of Fame star in 2022 including, DJ Khaled, the late Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher, Ewan McGregor, Michael B. Jordan, Avril Lavigne and Macaulay Culkin.
