Rihanna Suing Her Father Over Claims He Is Exploiting Her Name

Singer Rihanna, real name Robyn Rihanna Fenty, is suing her father over claims that a talent agency under the name Fenty Entertainment is exploiting her name.
Her father, Ronald Fenty, owns the company and Rihanna is saying that her own makeup line, Fenty Beauty, is being exploited by Fenty Entertainment.
According to documents, Rihanna says she has nothing to do with the agency and The Blast released the information that says, “Although Mr Fenty is Rihanna’s father, he does not have, and never has had, authority to act on Rihanna’s behalf,” — fun fact, Rihanna trademarked the name, Fenty.
Rihanna has been open about her estrangement with her father over the years and claims to have seen him abuse her mother as a child. In 2008 the pair reconnected but she says he “embarrassed” her on tour.
She said, “I didn’t think it was going to be a thing where we weren’t talking to each other. I just thought, ‘you just need some time away right now,’… Every time I tried to call him after that, that was it. I contacted him on numerous occasions — father’s days, his birthday… and just nothing,”.
It’s clear they hold zero father-daughter relationship anymore and Rihanna’s act to sue Fenty Entertainment is a sign of things to come.
FYI — TMZ.com claim they broke the story. They didn’t. The Blast did. Beating them by three minutes.
