Roy Moore Loses Bid To Sue Sacha Baron Cohen In Defamation Lawsuit

US Senate candidate Roy Moore has lost his legal bid to sue Sacha Baron Cohen.

Moore wanted to sue Cohen in a defamation lawsuit after the comedian used a fake “pedophile detector” on him during the show ‘Who Is America?‘.

The case was dismissed on Tuesday by Judge John Cronan, who said the bit was “clearly a joke”. Cronan also stated that a consent form signed by Moore meant he had no grounds to sue.

Moore had sought around $95 million in damages from Cohen, Showtime and CBS.

According to Sky the Republican politician will appeal the decision.

‘Who Is America?‘ was a comedy series created by Sacha Baron Cohen in 2018. The Brit would adorn different disguises and personas in order to interact with people across America’s political and social spectrum.
