Sergio Aguero was forced to cut his playing career short, but his coaching one could be just about to begin.

The 33-year-old made the switch to Barcelona from Manchester City in the summer, but was forced into early retirement.

Aguero had been out of action since late October, before being diagnosed with cardiac arrhythmia.

Now retired from playing, Aguero is exploring his role as part of the backroom staff for his homeland Argentina.

“I’m going to Qatar,” Aguero told TyC Sports.

“We still need to figure out in what role but I’ll be with the team at the World Cup,” he adds. “The talks will continue to set on my role and also the possibility to be at the draw for the World Cup.”

“My intention is to spend time with the players,” said Aguero. “I’ll be there with the team, I get along very well with them. I want to be close to them and loosen up.”

Aguero reveals he had offers from several sides and just wants to ‘enjoy’ himself for now, and do things “I couldn’t do when I was a soccer player.”
