Spotify Remove Neil Young’s Music After Vaccine Misinformation

Spotify have removed Neil Young’s music from their platform after the singer demanded his songs be removed over the spread of COVID-19 misinformation.
The legendary singer demanded his music be removed from Spotify earlier this week, citing the platforms support of podcaster Joe Rogan, a prominent sceptic of the COVID-19 vaccine, as the main reason for his request.
In response to Young’s demands, Spotify have said while they are disappointed with the signer’s decision, they have confirmed that they will be removing his songs as requested.
“We regret Neil’s decision to remove his music from Spotify, but hope to welcome him back soon. We want all the world’s music and audio content to be available to Spotify users,” Spotify said in a statement.
Sharing an official statement on the matter, Young said: “I want to thank my partners for standing with me. My good friends at WARNER BROTHERS – REPRISE also stand by me and I love them for it. Misinformation about COVID cannot be accepted.”
