Stephen Hillenburg, Creator Of SpongeBob SquarePants, Has Died
Sadness has massed across the globe following the death of Stephen Hillenburg, creator of SpongeBob SquarePants, aged 57.
He revealed his battle in 2017 with ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), which is a progressive degeneration of nerve cells that control muscle movements. He’s survived by his wife and son, Karen and Clay.
Nickelodeon have called him “a beloved friend and long-time creative partner to everyone at Nickelodeon, and out hearts go out to his entire family.”
