Susan Sarandon And Anna Friel Starring In New Fox Series

Susan Sarandon and Anna Friel have joined the cast of upcoming Fox series ‘Monarch‘.
The series, created by Melissa London Hilfers, will follow country music family, the Romans. Led by talented but tough matriarch Dottie Cantrell Roman (Sarandon) and her husband Albie – the Romans are a veritable music dynasty. When the family’s reputation is put at stake, family heir Nicolette Roman (Friel) will stop at nothing to protect the family legacy.
‘Monarch‘ is written by Hilfers, supported by showrunner Michael Rauch. The first episode will be directed by Jason Ensler.
Variety reports that the series will debut on January 30 2022.
Sarandon is famous for her roles in the likes of ‘Thelma & Louise‘, ‘The Client‘ and ‘The Rocky Horror Show‘. The 74-year-old award winner recently appeared in ‘Ride the Eagle‘ opposite J.K. Simmons and D’Arcy Carden. She also featured in Amazon’s new action film ‘Jolt‘, starring Kate Beckinsale.
Friel is best known for her role in ABC’s ‘Pushing Daisies‘. Her last television appearance was in 2019’s ‘Deep Water‘. In 2020 she featured in ‘Books of Blood‘ and ‘Charming The Hearts of Men‘.
