Jesse Palmer will replace Chris Harrison as the host of season 26 of The Bachelor.

Harrison left the show earlier this year after his defense of contestant, Rachael Kirkconnell caused widespread criticism. Kirkconnell was pictured at an antebellum-themed party and accused of racism.

Earlier in the year, Harrison was replaced by David Spade as the host of Bachelor In Paradise. He was also replaced by Tayisha Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe in The Bachelorette.

A former NFL player and ex-contestant of the show, Jesse Palmer, has enjoyed a lucrative career with Walt Disney. From 2007 he worked as an analyst and sports commentator for ESPN and ABC News.

“For more than 20 years, The Bachelor has brought the world dozens of unforgettable love stories, including at one time, my own,” read a statement from Palmer, shared by Fox News.

“Falling in love is one of life’s greatest gifts, and I am humbled by the opportunity to return to the show as host this season to offer the newest Bachelor advice gained from firsthand experience and I am grateful to play a small part in his journey.”
