‘The Suicide Squad’ Bags An R-Rating Before 2021 Release

James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad has been stamped with an R-rating due to adult content.

Director Gunn had always maintained the 2021 film would be rated R.

But the decision by the US Motion Picture Association makes the rating official.

Some of the reasons listed for the rating were “strong violence and gore, language throughout, some sexual references, drug use and brief graphic nudity.”

The Suicide Squad is set for release in theatres on July 30.
