‘The Young And The Restless’ Star Jerry Douglas Dies Aged 88

The Young and The Restless actor Jerry Douglas has passed away at the age of 88.
Douglas played John Abbott for over 25 years, featuring in over 900 episodes before the character was killed off in 2006. He later enjoyed guest appearances in shows such as Cold Case and Arrested Development.
According to Variety, Douglas‘ died following a brief illness in Los Angeles on November 9. He leaves behind his wife of 36 years, Kim Douglas, and his three children.
Paying tribute on Twitter, The Young and Restless said that Douglas would be greatly missed.

His co-star and on-screen wife, Jess Walton, also offered her condolences: “Rest in peace my dear TV husband Jerry Douglas.”

Kate Linder, who plays Esther Valentine on Young and Restless, called working with Douglas a “pleasure”.
