Deadline reports that Universal has secured the rights to the script – written by George Nolfi. The story will apparently focus on three former special forces members who assisted Afghan forces in rescuing civilians and allies left behind.
Tom Hardy has previously starred in the likes of The Dark Knight Rises, Mad Max: Fury Road, Legend and Dunkirk. Most recently, Hardy has returned as the titular anti-hero Venom in Let There Be Carnage.
Channing Tatum made his film debut in 2005’s Coach Carter, gaining prominence through his role as Michael Lane in Magic Mike. His other titles include White House Down, The Hateful Eight and Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
He will next appear in Dog – a comedy film scheduled for release on February 18.
