‘Twilight’ Author Stephenie Meyer Releasing ‘Midnight Sun’ Book In Summer, But A Film Is Unlikely

Stephenie Meyer, known for writing the Twilight books, has announced plans to release Midnight Sun later this year.
The highly anticipated book has been teased for years since the ending of the franchise films, with details only covering the overall aspect that readers will finally see the story from Edward Cullen‘s — played by Robert Pattinson — point of view.
Meyer said during an appearance on Good Morning America, “I am very excited to finally, finally announce the release of ‘Midnight Sun’ on August 4. It’s a crazy time right now and I wasn’t sure if this was the right time to put this book out, but some of you have been waiting for just so, so long. It didn’t seem fair to make you wait anymore. Sorry about the bad timing. Hopefully, this book can be a distraction from the real world,”

According to our source, there are no plans for a film to run alongside the upcoming book and “it’s very unlikely” for another film to happen. A complete reboot, with different actors, would be the only way to solve any demand for a future instalment.
