Usain Bolt Reacts To The Advancements In Running Spike Technology

In a recent article with Reuters, Usain Bolt called the changes “weird and unfair” recalling the time shoe companies tried to make changes and was denied.

The changes come as records have been broken in distance running.

Runners wore shoes that were “carbon plated, thick soled shoes.”

Following this, the changes will be applied to spike technology.

Bolt says the changes will give “athletes an advantage to run even faster,” and will become a disadvantage to those not wearing the spikes.

When talking about the changes he said that when shoe companies previously tired making changes to spikes the governing body said “‘No, you can’t change the spikes.”

Usain expressed his belief that it is laughable.

Although, not all sprinters believe the changes will become an advantage with Trayvon Bromell saying that “I don’t think there’s a lot of data to show” that the shoe will be too much of an improvement.
