Zack Snyder To Direct ‘Rebel Moon’

Zack Snyder is co-writing and directing sci-fi adventure film Rebel Moon to be streamed on Netflix.

Snyder co-wrote his zombie action film with Shay Hatten and this new project will see the pair collaborate again, along with 300 writer, Kurt Johnstad.

Rebel Moon was originally pitched to LucasFilm as a potential addition to the Star Wars franchise.

Though unsuccessful, Snyder continued to work on the idea.

Snyder spoke about the new project with The Hollywood Reporter.

“This is me growing up as an Akira Kurosawa fan, a Star Wars fan. It’s my love of sci-fi and a giant adventure.

“My hope is that this also becomes a massive IP and a universe that can be built out.”

Production for the new feature hopes to begin in 2022.
