Aaliyah’s final two albums, One in a Million and Aaliyah, are to be available to stream for the first time.

The announcement comes from the late R&B singer’s uncle and former manager, Barry Hankerson.

Hankerson has held the rights to many of Aaliyah’s masters for almost two decades. Much of her music has been kept in a state of limbo due to legal issues and the wishes of her family.

Recently, representatives of Aaliyah’s estate took to Instagram to “preempt the inevitable attacks” from people who wish to “leech off of Aaliyah’s life’s work”.

Hankerson’s company and Aaliyah’s former record label, Blackground Records 2.0, shared the news on social media. The release marks the 20th anniversary since her death.

One in a Million will be available on major streaming platforms from August 20.
