Apple Secures Rights To Matthew Vaughn’s Upcoming Film ‘Argylle’

Apple is reportedly close to securing the rights to Matthew Vaughn’s new spy thriller, Argylle.

According to Deadline both Apple and Vaughn confirmed the news on Wednesday. The production allegedly held an asking price of $200 million.

Argylle will follow the globe-trotting exploits of the world’s greatest spy – played by Henry Cavill.

The film is based on a not-yet-released novel by Ellie Conway. The book will be published in 2022.

Jason Fuchs penned the adaptation which he will produce with Adam Bohling and David Reid.

“I’m thrilled to team with Apple and bring the most compelling spy thriller I’ve ever read to the only streaming service that can create a franchise of this scale and quality for global audiences to experience.” Said Vaughn.

Vaughn has secured a star-studded cast for his new feature with the likes of Cavill, Bryan Cranston, Sam Rockwell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Catherine O’Hara, John Cena, Samuel L. Jackson and Dua Lipa.

The 50-year-old director is already working with Apple for his upcoming film ‘Tetris‘, starring Taron Egerton.
