Ben Affleck Jokes About Sexiest Man Alive Rivalry With George Clooney

Ben Affleck has joked that he and George Clooney share a rivalry over People’s Sexiest Man Alive covers.
In conversation with People on Sunday (December 12), Affleck teased that he turned down further covers so that Clooney could keep doing them.
“Well, I passed a few times, obviously,” joked Affleck. “George, he likes that stuff and he wanted to keep doing it and I felt like maybe one was enough.”
Affleck claimed People’s Sexiest Man Alive title back in 2002, while Clooney featured on the cover in 1997 and 2006. Both actors recently worked together on the recent coming-of-age picture, The Tender Bar.
Clooney also recently referenced the pair’s history as Sexiest Man Alive, pointing out that it wasn’t their only similarity.
Both men have previously starred as Batman, with Clooney starring in 1997’s Batman & Robin, while Affleck played the Caped Crusader in Batman v Superman and Justice League.
“Yes, two Batmans. Two people who have been in People magazine too – and that’s no joke,” said Clooney.
