Benedict Cumberbatch On Toxic Masculinity

Ahead of the release of The Power Of The Dog, Benedict Cumberbatch speaks to Sky News about fixing ‘toxic male’ behaviour.
The Doctor Strange actor revealed his stance on toxic masculinity in a video interview with Sky News (November 23).
You can watch this video on Sky’s official YouTube below:
Cumberbatch says “toxic masculinity should start to be looked at like a mental health issue and corrected from an early age”.
He then goes on to say, “You get this sort of rebellion aspect, this denial, this sort of childish defensive position of ‘not all men are bad’. No, we just have to shut up and listen.”
Adding that, toxic masculinity “needs talking about, [it] needs addressing”
This comes after Cumberbatch has spent over a year filming Jane Campion’s new movie The Power Of The Dog, in which he plays the role of Phil Burbank – a very toxic character.
