Bill Murray reveals that fans can expect to see him in the upcoming Marvel film, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

According to Variety, Murray let his involvement in the superhero franchise slip when asked about working with directors he liked. Speaking with German news outlet FAZ, the 71-year-old Ghostbuster was promoting his latest Wes Anderson project, The French Dispatch.

“You know, recently I made a Marvel movie,” he confessed. Though he apparently regretted bringing up the topic – likely due to the notorious NDA’s Marvel makes its cast members sign.

“In any case, some people were quite surprised why I decided on such a project. But for me the thing was quite clear: I got to know the director – and really liked him very much. He was funny, humble, everything you want from a director.”

Citing the past works of Ant-Man director Peyton Reed, Murray added, “So I agreed, although I’m not interested in these huge comic book adaptations as an actor otherwise.”

Filming for the new Marvel picture began earlier this year. Though Murray’s role in the feature went unspecified, he joins the likes of Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathryn Newton and Jonathan Majors.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is scheduled for release on July 28, 2023.
