Britney Spears Tells Fans She Is Pregnant
Britney Spears tells fans she is expecting a baby, months after a judge brought an end to her 13-year-long conservatorship.
The 40-year-old has been open about her desire to have a third child; something she claims the conservatorship prevented her from doing.
Now, in a post to Instagram, Spears revealed she had taken a positive pregnancy test.
Stating that she and her partner, Sam Asghari, thought she could be “food pregnant”, she says she got a pregnancy test just to be sure.
“So I got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby,” wrote Spears. “I obviously won’t be going out as much due to the paps getting their money ? shot of me ? like they unfortunately already have.”
Spears already shares her two children, 16-year old Sean and 15-year-old Jayden, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Admitting that she previously struggled with perinatal depression, Spears said she’d felt unable to talk about it due to stigma at the time. “Thank Jesus we don’t have to keep that pain a reserved proper secret. She added, “This time I will be doing yoga ?♀️ every day!!!”
Speaking out publicly against her conservatorship in a hearing last year, the superstar branded the arrangement “abusive” and accused her father, Jamie Spears, of taking advantage of her situation to exert control over every aspect of life.
“I have an [IUD] inside of myself right now so I don’t get pregnant,” she told the court. “But this so-called team won’t let me go to the doctor to take it out because they don’t want me to have children.”
Adding that she wanted to start a family with Asghari, Spears said, “I was told right now in the conservatorship I am not able to get married and have a baby.”
Responding to news of the pregnancy on his own Instagram, Asghari wrote that fatherhood “is the most important job I will ever do.”
