Christian Bale To Star In ‘The Church Of Living Dangerously’

Christian Bale will star in and produce ‘The Church of Living Dangerously‘, based on the Vanity Fair article by David Kushner.
The script with be penned by Charles Randolph.
According to Deadline, New Regency secured the rights to the article, which follows the story of John Lee Bishop. Emerging from a rough and tumble childhood, Bishop became a pastor of The Living Hope Church, which became so big it filled an 8500ft supermarket in Portland, Oregon.
Bishop, determined not to fail his son like his family had failed him, took drugs with him in order to understand his addiction. This led to Bishop becoming a smuggler for a Mexican cartel and caught after 20 runs. He served five years in prison and was ultimately saved by his son, David.
Bale will produce the new film alongside Ellen Goldsmith Vein and Eric Robinson.
The Batman Trilogy star is currently working on David O. Russell’s latest feature, New Regency.
