DaBaby Responds After Comments He Made Labelled As Homophobic
DaBaby has defended himself after comments he made during an appearance at Rolling Loud where labelled as homophobic.
The rapper made a series of comments during his appearance at the music festival over the weekend which some have labelled as homophobic.
“If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that’ll make you die in two or three weeks, put your cellphone light up,” the rapper could be heard saying in one video shared online.
DaBaby responded to the accusations his comments where homophobic in a lengthy series of videos posted to his Instagram story.
“What I do at a live show is for the audience at the live show. It’ll never translate correctly to somebody looking at a little five, six-second clip from their goddamn crib on their phone. It just don’t work like that,” the rapper said.
“Because regardless of what y’all motherfuckers are talking about and how the internet twisted up my motherf***ing words, me and all my fans at the show, the gay ones and the straight ones, we turned the fuck up,” he continued.
At the end of his response DaBaby criticised those who are bringing “negative attention and energy,” and also stated that he was putting on a show and that it doesn’t concern fans that didn’t turn up.
