Denise Nickerson, the actress that played Violet in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory has been taken off life support.
She suffered a stroke in 2018 and has recovered at home ever since, but on Monday, she retrieved medication at home and took more than the specified amount, leading her family to take her to the emergency room.
In the hospital, she was diagnosed with pneumonia and shortly after she suffered a huge seizure, to which doctors placed Denise on life support. At the moment, her condition has worsened to the point where her family have now taken Denise off life support.
A GoFundMe was created to honour her wishes of being cremated and the ashes to be made into glass artwork, and her family believe it’s just a matter of time before she passes away.
She has one daughter-in-law and one son, who is caring for her every need.
Denise is 62 and starred in The Electric Company, Dark Shadows, Willy Wonka and an episode of The Brady Bunch. In 1978 she left the entertainment industry and became a qualified nurse.
