Dolly Parton Is Glad To Have Helped Fund Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine

Dolly Parton helped to fund the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine and says that she has has more credit than she deserves. 

The singer donated $1 million towards Covid research in 2020. She was one of the first celebrities to promote getting vaccinated after she received the Moderna vaccine.

Parton appeared on Absolute Radio Country and said how she funded multiple projects involving research for the vaccine.

“When the pandemic came out, I just felt led to do something because I knew something bad was on the rise and I just wanted to kind of help with that, so I donated to help with that,” she told the station.

Dolly thinks that she got more credit for the vaccine than she deserves.

“I probably get a lot more credit than I deserve,” the star explains, “but I was happy to be part of that and to be able to try to stop something in its tracks that’s really become such a monster for all of us. I was happy to do that.”

After receiving her vaccine, she urged anti-vaxxers to get the vaccination: “I just want to say to all of you cowards out there: don’t be such a chicken squat. Get out there and get your shot.”
