Eddie Izzard Says JK Rowling Isn’t Transphobic After Gender Comments

Eddie Izzard has stepped in to defend J.K. Rowling over comments made that offended the trans community.

The 58-year-old comedian announced that she wants to be referred to as she/her and has since defended the Harry Potter author after she came under fire for making comments that were deemed transphobic.

During an interview, Izzard told The Telegraph, “I don’t think J.K. Rowling is transphobic. I think we need to look at the things she has written about in her blog, Women have been through such hell over history. Trans people have been invisible, too.

I hate the idea that we are fighting between ourselves, but it’s not going to be sorted with the wave of a wand. I don’t have all the answers. If people disagree with me, fine, but why are we going through hell on this?”
