Emily Blunt Joining Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’

Emily Blunt has joined the cast of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film, Oppenheimer.
The film, which already stars Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy, will depict the life of the titular physicist, J. Robert Oppenheimer. The scientist would become instrumental in the Manhattan Project and the subsequent invention of the atom bomb.
Universal Pictures will distribute the film in a surprise move from Nolan, whose other major films have been distributed by Warner Bros. Nolan and his wife, Emma Thomas, will produce the film with Charles Roven of Atlas Entertainment.
News of Emily Blunt’s casting was first shared by Deadline.
Blunt’s last major outing was in A Quiet Place II. She also recently starred opposite Dwayne Johnson in Disney’s Jungle Cruise. The 38-year-old is best known for her role in The Devil Wears Prada, Sicario, and The Girl on the Train.
Oppenheimer will debut on July 21, 23.
