Ex-UCF star Otis Anderson Jr. was reportedly shot and killed by his father on Monday (November 29).

According to police documents obtained by TMZ, Anderson’s mother, Denise, provided a full account of the tragedy. She claimed the violent altercation began after a dog belonging to her son’s girlfriend, bit her husband Otis Anderson Sr.

The incident reportedly caused Anderson Sr. to spiral into a rage, which led to a verbal argument with both his son and wife. Though details leading up to the shooting are largely redacted, it’s understood that Anderson Sr. may have become physically violent.

Police discovered Anderson Jr. on scene with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was rushed to hospital but was tragically pronounced dead.

His mother Denise also reportedly suffered injuries but was later released from hospital.

In a tribute to Twitter, UCF Football wrote that Anderson Jr was “revered” by his teammates and offered condolences to “everyone who loved Otis.”

The 23-year-old was a former star running back for the UFC Knights. Though he wasn’t selected in the 2021 NFL Draft, he signed with the Los Angeles Rams during the offseason.

Rest in Peace, Otis.
