Fighter Chael Sonnen Detained After Las Vegas Brawl

Chael Sonnen was detained by police following a brawl in a Las Vegas hotel on Saturday (December 18).

According to TMZ, the MMA fighter was issued with five citations for misdemeanour battery but avoided arrest.

Police reportedly responded to a call from the Four Seasons at approximately 7pm. A witness claims that they saw Sonnen banging on a hotel room door when a couple passed by and a physical altercation suddenly broke out.

Though Sonnen supposedly avoided arrest as police did not witness the attack, an investigation is ongoing.

The 44-year-old fighter retired from the MMA in 2019, following his final bout against Lyoto Machida.
