First Clip Revealed From DC’s ‘The Suicide Squad’ Spinoff ‘Peacemaker’

HBO has unveiled the first clip from the new DC spinoff series Peacemaker.
The new footage was first shared earlier today (October 5) at HBO’s Max European launch event.
John Cena stars as the titular character, obsessed with achieving peace by any means necessary – no matter how many people he has to kill.
Peacemaker made his debut in The Suicide Squad, appearing alongside the likes of Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, Idris Elba’s Bloodsport, and Daniela Melchior‘s Ratcatcher 2. The character proved popular for his unique dark comedy and jaded sense of morals.
James Gunn, director of The Suicide Squad, created the spinoff which will continue on from the ending of the film.
Joining Cena in the show are Steve Agee, Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, and Chukwudi Iwuji.
In the new clip posted by HBO, Peacemaker seemingly makes his introduction to a new, slightly more conventional team. Awaiting his arrival at a diner, the group is shocked to see Peacemaker appear in a red and white striped car, harboring his pet bald eagle “Eagley” in the back seat. The group then proceeds to make fun of his choice of “cosplay”, dressed in a metal helmet, red shirt, and white pants.
Peacemaker will premiere on HBO Max in January 2022.
