Formula 1 Driver Lando Norris Mugged After Euro 2020 Final

Formula 1 driver Lando Norris was mugged following the Euro 2020 final between England and Italy on Sunday.

According to the BBC, Norris was attacked by two men after leaving Wembley stadium to return to his car. The assailants stole his team-issued watch – worth a staggering £40,000 – but allegedly nothing else was taken.

McLaren confirmed the theft in an official statement.

McLaren Racing can confirm that Lando Norris was involved in an accident after the Euro 2020 final match at Wembley, during which the watch he was wearing was taken.” Said the statement.

“Thankfully, Lando was unharmed but he is understandably shaken. The team is supporting Lando and we are sure that racing fans will join us in wishing him all the best for the British Grand Prix this weekend. As this is now a police matter we cannot comment further.”

In a post to his Instagram story, the 21-year-old McLaren driver thanked the public for their well-wishes and said he was focusing on preparing for the race this weekend. Sharing a picture of himself in the Wembley stands, he wrote: “Kinda sad, but <3 you @england“.

Police announced they had made around 53 arrests following the Euro 2020 final. There had been reports of fans breaking into Wembley to watch the match and unrest following Italy’s victory.
