According to ESPN, Vogel could be informed of the decision as early as Monday.
After three years with the Lakers, the 48-year-old responded somewhat awkwardly to questions about his fate during a press conference.
“I haven’t been told s—,” Vogel responded. “I’m going to enjoy tonight’s [Sunday] game celebrate what these young guys did in terms of scratching and clawing and getting back in this game and getting a W, and we’ll deal with tomorrow, tomorrow.”
The form of Vogel’s side plummeted following the All-Star break, losing 18 out of 24 games.
And his fate looks to be sealed, with rookie Austin Reaves commenting it was “good to go out with a big win for [Vogel] and our team.”
The Lakers’ search for his replacement is expected to be “expansive and lengthy”.
