It was a dream tournament return for Tiger Woods as he took the Masters almost like he had never left.

Although it wasn’t a winning comeback, Woods held his own on the Augusta green over the weekend.

And he plans to carry this momentum into the summer at the 150th open.

After being in some visible discomfort toward the end of the Masters, Woods said he will also try and be ready to tee up at the Championship in Southern Hills in May.

But regardless, he has already committed to The Open Championship St Andrews.

“I won’t be playing a full schedule ever again, so it will just be the big events,” Woods told Sky Sports. “I don’t know if I will play Southern Hills or not, but I’m looking forward to St. Andrews.

“That is something that’s near and dear to my heart, I’ve won two Opens there, it’s the Home of Golf and it’s my favourite golf course in the world.”

He adds definitively: “I will be there for that one.”
