Gabby Petito Laid To Rest In New York Funeral Service

Members of the public were allowed to attend Gabby Petito‘s funeral in Long Island, New York. 

The memorial service was held a Moloney’s Holbrook Funeral Home in Holbrook, New York. Hundreds of members of the public, amongst friends and family, were in attendance to remember the life of Gabby.

Gabby‘s father, Joe Petito, gave a heartfelt eulogy at the service and offers life advice to the women that attended as well as offering Gabby to be remembered as an inspiration.

Joe said in his speech, that was live-streamed on social media, that his daughter’s death should serve as a warning for women in abusive relationships to not be afraid to leave.

“I would like you to take a look at these videos [of Petito’s travels] and I want you to be inspired by them. If there’s a trip you guys want to take, take it now. Do it now while you have the time.”

Petito was reported missing on 11 September by her parents when she suddenly stopped communicating with them.

Her remains were found a week later near a remote campsite in Wyoming, and her death has been ruled a homicide. Boyfriend, Brian Laundrie, has been named a person of interest i the case, and is still missing.

Authorities are waiting on autopsy results in order to determine her cause of death. Her remains have not yet been returned to her family.

“Gabby is the most amazing person I’ve ever met,” Joe added.

“So, if you’re going to leave here today, I’m asking that you guys be inspired by the way she treated people, all people.”
