Gal Gadot Issues Statement Regarding Israel-Palestine Violence

Wonder Woman actress, Gal Gadot, faces social media backlash for her statement calling for an end to ongoing violence between Israel and Palestine.
“My heart breaks. My country is at war” wrote the 36-year-old actress in a Twitter statement.
“I worry for my family, my friends. I worry for my people. This is a vicious cycle that has been going on for far too long. Israel deserves to live as a free and safe nation. Our neighbors deserve the same. I pray for the victims and their families, I pray for this unimaginable hostility to end, I pray for our leaders to find the solution so we could live side by side in peace.”

The statement soon became a topic of hot debate across social media channels.
Many have accused her of posting Israeli ‘propaganda’ and the actress has been labelled as ‘Zionist‘.
Gadot‘s 2005-2007 military service in the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) has also been the focus of attention of some responses.
One user, @thetaeprint, quote tweeted the statement with the comment: “Reminder Gal Gadot served in the IDF for two years where she not only witnessed the ethnic cleansing of Palestine firsthand but also actively supported it. How can you advocate to stop the vicious cycle of terror when you are standing on the frontlines enabling it #FreePalestine”.
