Opinion: Givenchy Called Out Over Noose Necklace

During Paris Fashion Week, creative director of Givenchy debuted an accessory which has caused a huge stir.
Matthew M Williams showed a “noose necklace” as part of Givenchy’s SS21 men’s collection, which has been branded as “blatantly offensive”.
Many haven’t noted the similarity to Burberry’s “noose hoodie.”
Fashion watchdog Diet Prada pointed out the similarities;
Angela McRobbie, a professor at Goldsmiths, University of London, told The Guardian; “I’m not sure what to say here, given the tired and weary ‘desire to shock’ or the absolute thoughtlessness,”
For me, the questions that are relevant but never gets answered are: who are the decision makers behind the scenes? Who signs off blatantly offensive items like this? When there is a reaction, do they get fired?”
Givenchy told The Guardian “The house do not have an official response on this.”
