‘MythBusters’ Star Grant Imahara Has Died At 49 From A Brain Aneurysm

Grant Imahara has died at 49 following a brain aneurysm.
The MythBusters star was a regular electrical engineer on the Discovery Channel series, working alongside Adam Savage, Kari Byron and Jamie Hyneman.
His death comes as a huge shock to his family, close friends and co-workers, with Discovery responding to the saddening news, “We are heartbroken to hear this sad news about Grant. He was an important part of our Discovery family and a really wonderful man. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.” Imahara suddenly passed away on Monday from the brain aneurysm.
During his time on television, he worked alongside some of Hollywood’s most recognisable stars in roles from Matrix, Galaxy Quest, Terminator 3 and The Lost World: Jurassic Park. He was also one of the few mechanical operators that were qualified to operate R2-D2 from Star Wars; with some of his animatronic creations featured in the Star Wars prequels.
Savage, another star from MythBusters, has expressed his shock today on social media, writing, “I’m at a loss. No words. I’ve been part of two big families with Grant Imahara over the last 22 years. Grant was a truly brilliant engineer, artist and performer, but also just such a generous, easygoing, and gentle PERSON. Working with Grant was so much fun. I’ll miss my friend.”
