Gucci’s Star Studded Love Pararde on Hollywood Boulevard
Macaulay Culkin, Jared Leto and Phoebe Bridgers are just a few names that walked for Gucci’s Love Parade.
The extravaganza began the day before the parade, with a note telling the reader to meet Gucci “on Hollywood boulevard”.
Then hours before the show began, Gucci posted the “directors notes” which gave an insight into creative director Alessandro Michele’s thought process behind creating the spectacle.
The whole of Hollywood Boulevard was shut down for the show, and the star studded cast walked alonge the world famous street to showcase Gucci’s Spring 2022 ready-to-wear collection.
High Fashion Talk described the collection as; “The collection was an ode to Hollywood, the movies like Cleopatra and the Westerns, as well as a hint to today’s leisurewear spandex-wearing influencers.”
There was a melancholic note of transience to it all; memories of those who hadn’t made it in Hollywood perhaps, those tragic but beautiful lives, with nothing but love keeping them going.”
The show it’s in its entirety was uploaded to IGTV, and is nearly an hour-long.
Michele wrote about the parade “A parade of enchanted and deeply free beings that go across a land where neither past nor future resides: only the miracle of the imaginative flair. Mum always told me about it: Los Angeles shines in its own magic, which is timeless; it’s a place that brushes the divinities, becoming a mythology of the possible.”
The collection and show actively exhibit Michele’s commitment to beauty and gave us a very exciting sneak preview of where he plans to take Gucci.
