Halsey Calls Out Press On Social Media For Exploiting Her

American singer Halsey has called out the press in a series of Tweets after allegedly being “exploited” and “misquoted” in a recent article.
Halsey’s posts come in the wake of featuring in a cover article for Allure Magazine. The 26-year-old thanked the magazine for their cover image just days earlier on Twitter.
Obviously displeased by the article which has since been published, Halsey criticised the publication for their use of her interview. She said the magazine had “bastardized” her quotes and “deliberately disrespected” her pronouns.
“Hey @Allure_magazine. First your writer made a focal point in my cover story my pronouns and you guys deliberately disrespected them by not using them in the article.” Wrote a palpably angry Halsey. “Then your admin bastardized a quote where I discuss the privilege of being the white child of a black parent.”
“Intentionally use a portion that was the antithesis of the point I was trying to make. All of this ironically on the tails of an article where I give your author the intimate admission that I hate doing press because I get exploited and misquoted. Do f****** better…?”

In a segment from the Allure article, Halsey admitted, “I don’t do press anymore.”
“I did, like, two interviews for my last album, which was 16 months ago. I just don’t translate very well in print. Even saying this is going to get me in trouble.” They added.
The ‘Without Me‘ and ‘Gasoline‘ singer welcomed their first child with partner Alev Aydin on Monday (July 19). Sharing the new arrival in a picture on Instagram, Halsey wrote: “Gratitude. For the most “rare” and euphoric birth. Powered by love. Ender Ridley Aydin 7/14/2021.”
