Hugh Jackman Shares Father’s Tragic Death On Australia’s Father’s Day
Hugh Jackman has shared the tragic news that his father, Christopher John Jackman, passed away on Sunday.
“In the early hours of Father’s Day (AU), my Dad peacefully passed away.” Announced Jackman on Instagram. “And whilst there is deep sadness, I am filled with such gratitude and love. My Dad was, in a word, extraordinary. He devoted his life to his family, his work and his faith. I pray he is now at peace with God.”

Jackman’s long-time friend Ryan Reynolds, commented his support: “I was lucky enough to have met him”, followed by a heart emoji.
Christopher John Jackman was an English-born accountant from Cambridge who moved to Australia with his then-wife Grace McNeil in 1967. He had five children – one of which would grow up to be globally recognised as Marvel’s Wolverine.
