Idris Elba “Part Of The Conversation” To Be The Next ‘James Bond’

James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has said that actor Idris Elba is part of the conversation to be the next 007.
Speaking to Deadline on there Crew Call podcast, Broccoli said that while no decision had been made about who would be the next James Bond after Daniel Craig, Elba has been part of the succession conversation.
“Well, we know Idris — I’m friends with him and he’s a magnificent actor. You know, it’s been part of the conversation, but it’s always difficult to have the conversation when you have someone in the seat,” she said.
“I think we have decided that until No Time to Die has had its run and Daniel has been able to – well, we’ve all been able to savour, reap the benefits of Daniel’s wonderful tenure, we’re not gonna think about, or talk about anybody else,” she added.
Back in 2019, Elba told Vanity Fair that while he would love to play James Bond if the opportunity arose, talk of him not being able to portray the character properly because of colour of his skin was “disheartening.”
“Of course, if someone said to me ‘Do you want to play James Bond?,’ I’d be like, Yeah! That’s fascinating to me. But it’s not something I’ve expressed, like, Yeah, I wanna be the black James Bond,” he said.
